Hello Santa Clarita, melted chocolate on carpet during Santa Clarita summers are always possible!
Your chocolate bar was left on a paper towel on the side table in the living room. The phone rings and you need to leave hastily to pick up a friend that’s stranded. On your way out the door you grab the keys not noticing the fob was under the paper towel and oops, there goes that yummy bar onto the your carpet. You get back home only to find the melting mess… Now what?
This one’s simple: First, grab a plastic putty knife and get the bulk of the chocolate up. Salvage what you can as reward for later, LOL! Scrape off as much chocolate residue as you can. Then, with a white paper towel or clean white cloth, apply dry-cleaning fluid to the stain and blot. If any stain remains, apply a solution of 1/4 teaspoon mild white detergent and 1 cup room-temperature water. Work from the outer edge of the stain to the middle — always blotting, not rubbing. Rinse with clear water to remove soap residue. Let dry, then vacuum.
Or, maybe this is last straw. The carpet is history! This is a great time to get that new Hardwood or Laminate Flooring you’ve been pondering.
